Integrate Deltek Vision Phases and Tasks into the Project Timeline

If you are importing projects from Deltek Vision into Project Center, you may also want to import phases and tasks from the Deltek Resource Planning module.  Project Center provides the flexibility to allow you to select how the information is imported, as shown in the following table:

1   Information imported from Deltek can be made read-only in Project Center (recommended) to respect the “source of truth” for the project planning information.

The project timeline integration service is an additional component to the project integration service and includes the following:

• Discussing importing Deltek Resource Planning Module tasks as either sub-phases or action items;

• Creating the Excel Spreadsheet with embedded SQL queries;

• Definition of fields marked read-only for imported information.

Benefits

• You can access all project information through one application. By importing the resource planning information, all users can access the information along with all other project information in Project Center without needing to log into another application or requiring access to the Deltek Resource Planning module.

• Adding and/or updating information in Deltek Vision automatically adds/updates the information in Project Center. This eliminates the possibility information is incorrectly added to Project Center.
